Karate for Kids

Any sport has tremendous value for the health of your child, but Karate helps with more than just the physical side of health. Karate has long been known as an excellent stress-reliever, with effects likened to doing yoga or Pilates, while also appealing more to kids by being 'cooler' and more exciting.

Fitness

The most obvious benefit of karate to a child's health and wellbeing is the fitness aspect. Despite there being no long runs, or prolonged periods of cardio in a typical Karate training session, the repeated of use of all major muscle groups throughout the session provides all those who train (not just kids) with a serious workout.

Self Defense

Another obvious benefit of karate is the ability to safely defend yourself when such a situation might arise. Although Karate also teaches kids how to avoid these situations entirely, this mentality is a major part of Karate, sometimes they are unavoidable. Therefore, those who study Karate are taught how to defend themselves in a variety of situations.

Respect

Respect for oneself and for others is ingrained into the mindset of those who study Karate. We will always put emphasis on the need to show respect for everyone, inside and outside of the dojo, be it peers, parents or teachers as we believe this is one of the most important  lessons Karate can teach.
